shameless self promotion?

my poem, dark spaces, was featured by the favorites project. I'm flattered =) gratitude and so forth!

just to babble and be self-involved for a bit: writing those poems - or rather, forming the part of me that went into those poems - was one of the more significant experiences of my life. I ended that relationship at the beginning of this summer. perhaps that's of interest? sorry for the sad ending; some things work out that way.

but that's enough about my work. here's something much more important - show some support for these groups:
the favorites project: promoting great poetry on dA
wordcount: bringing deviantART monthly newsletters which feature tons of great prose
linecount: a great new project promoting poetry in all its formal variety

blah blah blah

it's that time again...summer. and with my copious spare time I may get to uploading this past semester's work.

most of what I just uploaded went into scraps [that is the result of a very academic/practice-oriented class]. I hope you'll check at least some of those out, despite their not being deviations - I like my sketchbooks pages, a lot of the time. I apologize for the incredibly repetitive nature - that's what you get in life drawing. it drove me crazy, too.

the good stuff [if good it can be called] is coming. I still have to find even lighting in which to photograph the things I care about.

I predict many more scraps than deviations in days to come. not feeling so great about the drawing skills right now.

on the bright side, you'll probably get to see my 8 x 10 sketchbook pages, which I rather like.

too bad no one publishes sketchbooks unless the artist's already a legend.

new deviations

I uploaded a lot of scraps and a good number of drawings from this semester's drawing 1 class.

sorry for the terrible scan qualities. I kind of slacked off in lighting when I photographed them, and it turns out newsprint doesn't really photograph well.

also, I totally feel llama today. ...what kind of mood is that?!

oh yes - my work from basic photography will all be going up over the next couple of days as well. so enjoy ^_^ I think it's fun to see how I developed conceptually throughout the semester. I started off in love with all the twists and gadgets to my SLR and not really thinking in an artistic way...and then I started thinking.

1oo drawings, 1oo themes:

swiped from *RaenSilim. can't really count on me to finish, but I could use the challenge to get me thinking and drawing. I'll post links as I finish. not taking them in any kind of order. feel free to swipe the list for your own work.

the themes are in my lj: [link]
